Meimei Online

Web Design

Welcome, welcome! This is the new section of Meimei Online, which will showcase some web sites I have designed in the past! I've got to do some digging to find all the ones I like and that I'm proud of, so please check back as I will likely have new additions down the road.

Can you design for me?

Unfortuantely, I do not have the time to dedicate to making a website for you as I balance life and a full time job already.

This section is under construction.

Fansites

Because I was a fan of things, I made sites! These were larger content-heavy sites, which in time, became so time consuming to maintain, and keep up to date. Or, in the case of "Fox & Rat" Virtual Series (dumb name, I know!), the series came to an end and that was it! =D

website: "Fox & Rat" Virtual Series
fandom: The X-Files, AlternateUniverse

"Fox & Rat" Virtual Series was spoof parady of "The X-Files" which was primarily based in silly comedy, though evolved into drama, action, adventure, and so much more! This design for the website was circa 2006 or 2007, I'm honestly not sure. There were many designs, but this one may have only been used as a "hiatus" design between seasons. What I loved the most was the detail that I put into it and the clean lines. Its one of my favorite layouts the series ever had, but where it thrived in simplicity, it lacked in the ability to handle the many, weekly updates that the series required while in-season. Regardless, the design remains my favorite one of all the designs that were done.

Also fun to keep in mind, back then, in the early 2000s, wide screen, HD monitors were not the norm that they are today. So while this looks small today, it was actually quite filling on those old clunky square monitors. This was likely designed for a 1024x768 screen resolution.

Fanlistings

Fanlistings were a fad, or maybe they are still a thing today—I don' t know—where you would create little sites for fan-things like actors, tv or movie characters, tv shows, movies, tv episodes, etc, etc. Quite literally, there was almost nothing that couldn't be made into a fanlisting! I made a bunch of these back in the day as a way to play with new styles for web design, and what not. But they became sooo tideous to maintain, plus drama with those behind the scenes in "Fanlisting management", it was all too much. But I did make a few creative designs that I liked. These designs were more fitting for smaller, less-content driven websites.

website:Jack and Kate Fanlisting
fandom: Lost

I actually dreamt up the design for this fanlisting, which is something I often find myself doing, however, the result rarely comes to life. The exception was this design, which was exactly how I invisioned it would be. This was created around 2015-ish.

Again, think of this site on a small, square monitor. Likely designed for 1024x768.
