FAQ

If you have found your way here, you likely have some questions! Here is my attempt to answer them. If I do not answer your question, or it was not fully answered, then by all means, please contact me! Thanks!

I'm trying to access your site on my phone, but it doesn't seem to function as it should. Why isn't your site mobile-friendly?

You are correct! This site is not mobile-friendly. Back when I earned my degree in Interactive Media, viewing websites on phones was not exactly a very common thing. I'm also not trying to market my work where I'm trying to reach users on the fly at any time. For me, web design is for art, not for product selling. Since I am not comfortable with the ins and outs of mobile-friendly, I do not feel I can do my most creative work with that platform (though I have intentions of learning it, but not for this website). And I'm also old and use an actual computer.

Ok, so you're old, or maybe just "old school". Is that why I can't find you tweeting on Twitter or insta-ing on Insta-whatever or even tumbling on Tumblr? If you did, it might bring more traffic to your website which would mean more exposure for your work!

Again, that is correct! I am old! And I am not on any social media platform other than my YouTube channel for when I do something artsy with video. While I tend to agree that I would likely get a little more exposure for my work, its not very important to me how many 'likes' a piece gets. And somehow you found your way to my website, so something happened for you to stumble here!

So why the website? SO many other artists use DeviantArt.

Simple. I enjoy designing websites. It is part of my art, so why not, right?

I see you've done some art for video games that I play. Do you do commissions and can you do a piece for my character? How much do you charge?

I have opened up to doing commissions! Please check out my Commissions page for more details. Specifically for game(s) I currently play, such as Final Fantasy XIV. I do not have any set payment and, at least for Final Fantasy XIV, I accept in-game current (gil) for my servies.

What about screen captures? Could I ask you to cap a movie or tv show for me?

Unfortunately, no. My ability to do screen captures relies heavily on what I already own. And it takes time. Lots of time. My Resources section has links to a few sites that may have what you are looking for though.

Can I use your screen captures on my own website?

Sure! A link back to this website would be appreciated. Heck, you can also use them in your own digital art or memes (or whatever the kids these days are doing).

You call your work "art", but you didn't actually draw it or paint it...?

There are many forms of art. It is still art even if it is not painted with paint or hand drawn (I mean, I could draw you stick figures if you like, but I doubt you'd be impressed).

How much time do you spend on each piece of art?

On average, a single piece can take anywhere from 2 hours to 4+ hours.

What programs do you use?

I utilize Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop (graphics), Dreamweaver (web development), Premiere Pro (video), Audition (sound), and on occassion I've dabbled in After Effects (motion graphics, and cool post-production stuff, but oh geez is it hard!).

Can you make a website for me?

Unfortuantely, I do not have the time to dedicate to making a website for you as I balance life and a full time job already.

I have a website that might be of interest to you or maybe it's similar to your content. Can we be affiliates and link to each other? We might just get more exposure to our sites!

Contact me and we can discuss! Though it's likely your site already has more traffic than mine XD

I'm interested in getting into digital artwork like what you've done. Can you teach me or give me some tutorials?

As much as I'd love to, because art is so fun, I do lack the time to be able to dedicate to such a thing. This is merely a hobby of mine that I do when I have free time, otherwise I balance work and life. YouTube is full of many Photoshop tutorials, check out my Resource section for some places to start. Also, Adobe Press is an excellent spot to start your self-taught learning. They have books, eBooks, and many tools to help you learn the programs that I use.

You do a lot of artwork for fandoms and celebrities, do you do any for just your average Joe?

I have! These will not be featured on my site though.

Why did you leave fandom all together? It's sooo fun!

There was too much drama. I spent a lot of my time in the X-Files fandom, which was down right nasty if you didn't like what the "majority" liked. I was harassed, threatened, hacked, and it Burned. Me. Out. All that negativity made me even dislike the show for many years. Thankfully, I can look at the show now with some sort of fond nostalgia. But after The X-Files, I never again ventured too deep into other fandoms, and now I entirely skip over them. Life has been much happier since.

When are you going to write again?

Oh, that is a hostile question...
Probably when the writing bug bites me.

What about your videos? Why aren't there more?

Because I'm lazy, and they take a lot of time to do. That doesn't mean I don't have one in the works, so check back. It's my 2022 New Years Resolution to get one done (we'll see how well this statement ages...)

I found a typo you may want to fix!!

Oh no doubt! Try typing with arthritis and tell me you don't make typos too! =D
But yeah, please let me know =D Thanks!!
