Wait! Who exactly is Mei-mei?
Right? Like who is this strange girl you're about to contact?!
Mei-mei is the content creator, web admin/designor, and all around sole individual responsible for this website! She's just a silly, timid artist trying to enjoy life in a small corner of the internet and maybe just share her work with others in hopes of bringing them a moment of joy.
Aside from that... I am an Aquarius (yikes! LOL), and currently live in the United States. I moved around a lot as a child, but spent the majority of my childhood growing up overseas in Saudi Arabia (oil, not military). It was in the desert that I began to teach myself how to figure skate, on roller skates in the driveway! Eventually this love of figure skating was moved to the ice when I moved back to the States in the late 90s. (I probably just aged myself to some people out there, but whatever!). Later I would go on to coach figure skating for a few years. I also had the opportunity to travel a lot growing up, so I like to think of myself as being quite worldly. Though I studied French, German and Russian, I happily admit that learning languages has never been something I can easily grasp. But when you're too much of a perfectionist to speak, the learning demons are against you. But I can read much better than I can speak. I learned the important things like я люблю пoспать (ya lyublyu pah-spat - I love to sleep in) and я тебя люблю (ya tebya lyublyu - I love you).
I enjoy the arts! Ballet being one of my top favorite to see in theatre. I did study a bit of ballet, but more used it to help with my own skating. I love stage and theatre, and really anything performing arts. I once dreamed of working in theatre (OMG! Behind the scenes!, not ON the stage! I'm waaaay to introverted for that!). My biggest "theatre accomplishment" was being the lead lighting person (I'm so formal with words!) in a school play when I was in the 7th grade (I think it was the 7th grade, I could be mixing up years)... aka: I had fun doing a total black out in the theatre during a rehearsal when the director said to 'play around and get a feel for it'!
And of course I have a long lasting love for classical music. Pyotr Tchaikovsky being my absolute favorite ever since I was a young girl and saw Disney's "Sleeping Beauty". Beethoven, Rachmaninov, Schubert, Chopin, Debussy among others at the top of my list. How I never took a music appreciation class is beyond me!
When I was little I wanted to be a writer! I know, I know... my Writing section does NOT reflect this now! But I love to create stories, characters and worlds and jot them down on paper. Hopefully one day the writing bug will bite me again because it can be so rewarding.
I also love Star Wars! So a lot of my work tends to be centered around that, because—let's face it!—Star Wars is AWESOME! I love all of Star Wars, but absolutely adore the original trilogy. There's nothing better than the original three movies, and The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite of them all.
I watch some tv every now and then. Back in the day I loved everything X-Files (classic era in the 90s please!). But I also love Firefly, Supernatural, and a few other random shows here and there. Recently, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. I am eagerly awaiting the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. ♥Ewan McGregor, thank you very much!
With all this love of different fandoms, it may puzzle some to find out that I do not interact or participate in fandom any more. There's just no time between life and a job to spend discussing or whatever it is the kids these days do in fandom. I left it years ago after too much drama, and chose a happy, drama-free life instead. I simply enjoy the things I like in my small little corner and with close friends.
